W
elcome to the Digital Villages Network Research Project
This Action Research project is funded by the Big Lottery Fund between 2008 and 2011 and is led by the East Cleveland Community Development Group in partnership with the University of Teesside.
Our research explores Information and Communication Technology (ICT) use in the home and community in towns and villages across Redcar and Cleveland.
We are interested in the different ways that people use ICTs, including computers, the internet and social networking sites. We are also interested in how ICTs can be used to support local communities to exchange information and access services and ICT learning.
Our project has a network of Community Researchers who live in the region and are helping us to carry out a survey, interviews and focus groups.
More information on our aims and objectives, the four phases of our project and our latest research findings is available in the ‘About’ section.
